1 AND DONE...AND THE COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS

It's May16, 2020.  I wish I had a younger child (more than 60 seconds younger, lol) that would be applying to college so that I could use what I have learned throughout this process to help her/him.  I have tried to keep track of everything I have learned about the ins and outs of applying to college to help my friends who have kids who may be applying in the future! 

Months ago my dear friend, and lender, suggested I start a Blog!  With COVID 19 I have a little more time on my hands than usual so I figured there was no better time!

For those who may not know me I am a Real Estate Broker, not a Blogger or writer.  I apologize, in advance, if my grammar, sentence structure, content, auto correct, misspelled words, etc. is incorrect or boring.  I hope to get better as I go.  I am just a Mom of 17 year old Twins.

Let me start by saying that I am passing on this information NOT because I have it down and can offer advice on how to get in to a certain school.  Quite the opposite!  It has stemmed from my frustration and infinite lack of knowledge on the application process.  

I hope it can help you or someone you know.  PLEASE fact check everything.  I am only speaking from my experiences.

My first tip is you can never start too early!!  Create the College Board account first as that is where everything begins.  From AP Tests to SAT and ACT testing registration.  http://www.collegeboard.com

With the SAT scandal things may change but until they do I highly recommend taking the SAT and ACT often and EARLY and always do the ESSAY!  Do NOT wait until Junior Year because with school, clubs, homework , jobs and sports there won't be as much time to study should you decide you'd like to take it again to improve your score.  In addition, you may want to take SAT SUBJECT TESTS (some colleges require them) and you will need the time to do so!​ ​
